The Syrian army units have several times in the past few days repulsed the terrorists’ offensive on Jamiat al-Zahra in Western Aleppo as the town enjoys strategic importance for both sides.

Two regions of Jamiat al-Zahra and military academy in Aleppo have been witnessing the fiercest clashes between the army and militants since both of the regions play a decisive role in changing the power balance.

“The military attacks of Fatah al-Sham terrorist group continue and the militants are using suicide cars to change the equations in the battlefield but the army’s strong defense has prevented them from attaining their goals,” a field source said on Thursday.

“Also the residential areas have prevented eruption of street fight while the Syrian and Russian fighter jets also play an effective role in targeting the terrorists’ gathering centers and cutting their supply routes in Idlib which is adjacent to Aleppo province and the terrorists in Idlib should pass through Jamiat al-Zahra to enter Aleppo,” the source added.

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets conducted 200 airstrikes against the military positions and gathering centers of the terrorist groups in the Southwestern part of Aleppo on Wednesday.

The Syrian fighter jets strongly pounded the terrorists’ centers in al-Bab road, Qaterchi region, al-Sha’ar, al-Jazmati, Qzi Askar, al-Meyser, al-Movaselat and Karm al-Tarab.

Also on Wednesday, Syria’s warplanes precisely targeted a convoy of military vehicles in the Western countryside of the city of Aleppo in Northern Syria, killing dozen terrorists.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Syrian warplanes hit the military positions of the terrorists in the surrounding areas of the military academy buildings in the Southwestern countryside of Aleppo, destroying their military hardware, weapons and ammunition.

In a relevant development, the Russian fighter jets hit a military convoy of the terrorist groups in the countryside of the city of Aleppo on Wednesday, inflicting heavy losses and casualties on the terrorists.

The Jeish al-Fatah terrorists’ military convoy came under Russian air raids on a road linking military academy buildings to al-Ramousiyeh region.

At least 20 terrorists were killed and several of their military vehicles were also destroyed in Russian fighter jets’ strikes on al-Ramousiyeh road.
