Following the rapid capture of Tall Zouhor earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) elite shock troops proceeded to infiltrate buildings southwest of the aforementioned hill.

Thus, the Tiger Forces swept through an industrial area known by locals as the ‘old Sheikh Najjar factories’, not to be confused with Sheikh Najjar Industrial District.

As darkness settled over Aleppo on Saturday night, the Tiger Forces had captured the majority of the factories although heavy clashes were ongoing amid stiffening resistance.

At least 10 civilians managed to escape the battle and arrived safely into government-held Aleppo. The relieved non-combattants included 6 children, 2 men and 2 women.

Meanwhile, Unconfirmed reports even suggest the SAA has entered the Hanano and Jabal Badro districts following hundreds of recent airstrikes on rebel-held eastern Aleppo.

Long-term however, the SAA’s Military High Command will not embark on a massive urban warfare campaign through rebel-held Aleppo but rather sue for diplomatic solutions which would ultimately entail evacuating all insurgents from Aleppo, thus restoring Syria’s largest city under government control for the first time since 2012.

With pressure mounting on local Islamist commanders to come the negotiations table, the SAA hopes to avoid dangerous close quarter combat as it would presumably result in devastating collateral damage and loss of manpower. Effectively, a scenario comparable to the 2014 Homs reconciliation deal is likely to zeal Aleppo’s fate.
