Syrian Army storms strategic hilltop in new attempted advance in NW Hama

A heavy battle broke out this morning when the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) stormed the strategic hilltop of Tal Malah in northwestern Hama.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army reportedly stormed the western axis of the hilltop in an attempt to fracture the jihadist lines.

According to a military source near the front-lines in northwestern Hama, intense clashes are still ongoing at the moment; however, no advance has been made.

The Syrian Arab Army is seeking to retake Tal Malah and the nearby town of Jibeen from the jihadist rebels. Tal Malah overlooks the main road between the government strongholds of Mhardeh and Sqaylabiyeh.

Tal Malah and Jibeen were captured by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and their allies from Jaysh Al-Izza two weeks ago.

At the same time, the Syrian Arab Army reported that they managed to shoot down a militant drone that was flying over the Christian town of Mhardeh this morning.
