Syrian Army Takes over Two Areas near Sadad Town, Homs

Units of the Syrian armed forces on Saturday seized full control of Jabal al-Nahdain and Talet al-Madhal in the surroundings of Sadad town in Homs countryside after having destroyed the last militant gatherings in these two areas.
Last week, the army restored security and stability to Sadad town into which armed militant groups had infiltrated, Syrian Arab News Agency reported.

A big number of militants were killed and their weapons and ammunition were destroyed, in addition to dismantling dozens of explosive devices planted by the militants in the streets and neighborhoods of the town.

The news agency quoted a military source as saying that the army units hunted down the fleeing militants in Jabal al-Nahdain along 2 km and in Talet al-Mahdal, leaving all of them dead.

In the same context, all members of an armed militant group were killed near Police Station charged with protecting an oil pipeline near Sadad, according to the source.

The source added that a unit of the armed forces chased down members of armed militant groups in al-Hazm al-Janoubi and al-Hazm al-Westani areas and on the road linking Sadad with Mahin town. Many of the militants were killed.
