Syrian Army within 3.5km of splitting East Ghouta pocket in half – map

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has been rapidly advancing the through the eastern corridor of the East Ghouta region recently, seizing several localities from the terrorists of Jaysh Al-Islam.

Led by the Tiger Forces and 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Army continued their large-scale advance in the East Ghouta, today, taking control of several sites near the recently captured towns of Al-Shifouniyah and Beit Na’em.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Army was able to impose full control over the town of Al-Muhammadiyah and its corresponding farms after a fierce battle with the militants of Jaysh Al-Islam.

As a result of their advances, the Syrian Army now finds themselves within 3.5km of splitting the East Ghouta pocket in half.
