Syrian forces in besieged towns shoot down terrorist drone

The pro-government National Defense Forces (NDF) shot down a drone belonging to the jihadist rebels inside the besieged Al-Fou’aa-Kafraya enclave near Idlib city, the NDF reported tonight.

According to the NDF, the drone was spotted by their personnel circling the towns of Al-Fou’aa and Kafraya tonight; this prompted them to shoot down the reconnaissance aircraft right away.

The reconnaissance drone that was shot down tonight is also the same model drone used by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham to carry out airstrikes over government-held areas.

Al-Fou’aa and Kafraya are currently under a ceasefire deal with the jihadist rebels that prohibits any attacks on the towns; however, the latter recently launched a powerful assault that was later repelled by the NDF and Hezbollah.
