Military sources announced that the Syrian Army alongside the country’s popular forces continued pushing back the militant groups from mountainous regions near the border with Turkey, after fierce clashes with the terrorists on Sunday.

The militants’ concentration centers near Tell Ghazaleh came under massive attack of the Syrian army men and the National Defense Forces (NDF) earlier today, the sources said.

“The pro-government forces’ operation forced the militants to withdraw from the battle zone after leaving behind scores of dead and wounded members,” the sources further added.

“Tell Ghazaleh and its surrounding areas are now under full control of the Syrian forces,” the military officials said.

The Syrian army and its allies’ joint operations in Lattakia province have significantly pushed back the militants from different villages, heights and towns near border with Turkey.

Earlier reports said today that the Syrian Army and popular forces have pushed back the militant groups from more territories in Lattakia province and took back new Heights near the border with Turkey, battlefield sources announced Sunday.

The Syrian Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard, National Defense Forces (NDF) of Lattakia city and Qurdaha, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance) continued their rapid advance along the Turkish border, capturing Height 812 after fierce clashes with al-Nusra Front and the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) 1st Coastal Brigade, the sources said.

“Most of the militants near the Height 812 were killed or wounded and the remaining terrorists withdrew the battle zone leaving behind their military grid,” the sources added.

“The pro-government forces are to continue their operation in the mountainous areas of the coastal province of Lattakia and restore full security to the border regions with Turkey and cut the militant supplying lines,” the military analyzers, who reported the news, underlined.
