Syrian Gov’t, Terrorists Reach Final Reconciliation Agreement in Wadi Al-Bardi

Dissident sources reported that the Syrian government and the militant groups in Wadi al-Bardi in Western Ghouta of Damascus reached a final agreement for reconciliation in the region after a an hour-long meeting in the town of Deir Muqrin.

Al-Hadath news website quoted the dissident sources as saying on Thursday that based on the agreement, the terrorist groups which don’t pledge amnesty from the government have 48 hours to leave Wadi al-Bardi along with their family members towards Idlib.

Meantime, the militants who accept the reconciliation plan will be granted amnesty. The state bodies and facilities will be back to normal in the region.

Another paragraph of the agreement also underlines that the Syrian army should be deployed in Basima and its bases in Wadi al-Bardi, and the residents of Basima, al-Fijeh, Afrah and Harirah will return to their homes.

Meantime, the protection and repair units will immediately be sent to Ain al-Fijeh region which hosts the water reservoirs of Damascus.

On Tuesday, the Syrian army issued a last ultimatum to Fatah al-Sham Front (previously known as the al-Nusra Front) terrorists to leave Wadi al-Bardi region for Idlib in the next 48 hours.

Military sources said that the army gave a two-day ultimatum to the Fatah al-Sham militants in Wadi al-Bardi to leave the region with their families in the latest round of talks between Damascus and militants in the village of Deir Qanoun.

The sources said that the army soldiers have continued their attacks on Nusra militants in the village of Ain al-Fijeh and have already established control over a major part of the region, adding that they are now deployed in the center of the village.

Another field source said that Fatah al-Sham has planted landmines in nearby areas of Ain al-Fijeh water reservoirs to prevent the army’s further advances.
