Syrian military to expel US-backed terrorists from Iraqi border

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside Hezbollah and Hashd Al-Sha’abi (Iraqi paramilitary), will not let up their assault in the southeastern part of Homs until the US-backed rebels are fully expelled, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News on Monday evening.

“We have every right to take Al-Tanf from insurgents; this land is Syrian and should not be occupied by Americans,” the source stated.

The Syrian Arab Army and their allies restarted their field operations near the Al-Tanf Crossing this past weekend, following a short hiatus to focus on a few more pressing fronts.

Despite the optimism, the source believes the US will once again interfere in the government’s advance towards Al-Tanf.

“America will try to stop our advance to Al-Tanf because they want to block our progress near the Iraqi border,” the source concluded.

The US has attacked the government forces on several occasions in the Al-Tanf area, further agitating the Russian military that is advising the Syrian Armed Forces in southeastern Homs and Damascus.
