Syrian National Dialogue Forum: Dialogue Only Way out of Crisis, No Preconditions

The Syrian National Dialogue Forum stressed on Monday that dialogue is the only way out of the crisis in Syria and there are no preconditions, pointing out to the necessity of halting all forms of violence.

In the concluding statement after its two-day sessions, the Forum called for exerting all efforts and taking part in dialogue by all parties concerned in the crisis in Syria.

The Forum held the U.S.-European colonists accountable for the repercussions of the unjust economic embargo on Syria, pointing out that the participants in the Forum will work to hold those countries accountable and will specify the volume of financial losses caused by direct and indirect foreign interference to demand compensation.

The Forum condemned the Arab League’s violation of its charter and its provocation of the Syrian armed opposition, in addition to giving Syria’s seat to it.

The Forum stressed that the Syrian army is the only legitimate side that is authorized to take up arms and the guarantee for stopping all possibilities of civil war, calling on the government to work quickly to raise the living and financial level and to improve the logistic conditions for the Syrian army members.

The statement called on the government to quickly pay compensations for the affected people and to positively and actively deal with the issues of detainees, kidnapped people, refugees and displaced people, in addition to issuing a general amnesty and forming a national body for human rights.

The Forum said that a number of basic points were agreed upon concerning the charter, the constitution, authorities of the state, the national unity government, and a timetable for a transitional period.
