Syrian Patriarch Laham: We hope Eid al-Adha would bring peace to the region

Greek Catholic Patriarch Grogorios III Laham of Antioch and all East expressed hope that Eid al-Adha would bring peace to the Arab region.

In a congratulation message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Laham called on all sides to work for peace, security and reconciliation in the Arab world and reject killing and war, and the destruction of cities and villages and the displacement of people.

“If peace do not start form Occupied Jerusalem, it will be absurd to talk about it in the Middle East,” Patriarch Laham said.

He stressed the need for supporting the affected families, calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to increase the impetus of their work to restore security and stability to all affected countries.
