Syrian PM: World Public Opinion Aware of Syria Events Shaping

20130314-202748_h472566Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi said the government is holding contacts with all political and social forces inside and outside Syria which believe in national solution according to national principles.

Al-Halqi’s remarks came during a meeting between the ministerial committee tasked with implementing the political program for solving the crisis, chaired by Dr. al-Halqi, and chairwoman of the Syrian Family Forum’s board of secretaries, Ahd Sharifa.

During the meeting, Dr. al-Halqi stressed the ability of the Syrian people to overcome the crisis thanks to their unity and the courage of the Syrian army in defending Syria’s security and stability, affirming that a world public opinion that is aware of the reality o the events in Syria is shaping.

Premier al-Halqi gave a review of the procedures and legal and security assurances for those who are willing to return to the country and take part in the national dialogue, and the government’s efforts to provide aid and temporary residential centers to the returnees.

He referred to the return of scores of Syrian families from Lebanon, indicating that the government has offered facilitations and temporary residential centers for them.

The premier said the government is working to address the issues of detainees, kidnapped and armed men who favor logic over arms.

Sharifa thanked the government for its efforts to serve the homeland and citizens and its keenness on holding dialogue, expressing the forum’s support to the political program for solving the crisis in Syria.

The members of the board of secretaries presented their views for getting out of the crisis and their role in enhancing national unity and defending the Syrian society, stressing the importance of addressing the issue of the kidnapped and the missing, and those willing to return to Syria through giving them the necessary assurances.

They also stressed the importance of forming a new awareness that defines the concepts of national education, belonging, freedom and respect to law.

In a press conference following the meeting, Sharifa stressed the importance of communications with all social categories, including those who took up arms to help them get back to their normal life.

She added that the Forum has offered aid to a number of Syrian families despite the difficulties in delivering it to all areas as the armed groups are blocking roads and intercepting cars, stressing that the forum pushes ahead with its activities to provide aid to those in need.
