Syrian Science Olympiad Kicks off Sunday

The activities of the Syrian Science Olympiad kick off on Sunday, with the participation of 245 youths from all provinces, and 48 who came ahead in the past two editions of the Olympiad.

The activities last until January 23rd.

The activities include finals to determine the winners at the national level in math, physics, chemistry and IT. Chairman of the National Commission of the Syrian Science Olympiad, Imad Muwaffaq al-Azab clarified that the Commission has prepared distinguished scientific atmosphere for the qualified to the finals, after providing them with the necessary curricula and lectures.

Al-Azab indicated that the youths from provinces who find it difficult to travel during the Olympiad will take part via the internet and in coordination with the Virtual University.

The winners in the finals are to join the national teams and undergo scientific training to take part in the world olympiads next July, as the Math Olympiad is due in Columbia, the Physics in Denmark and the Chemistry in Russia.
