Syrian Soldiers Enter Terrorists’ Main Strongholds in Hama

The Syrian Army troops continued to prevail over the positions of Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) in Northern Hama and entered a key town in the region.

The army soldiers engaged in hours of intense battle with Al-Nusra and managed to capture several positions, entering the strategic town of Halfaya known as one of the largest bases of the terrorists in Eastern Ghouta.

A field sources reported meantime that the army men have entered Halfaya and are now carrying out cleansing operation across the town, adding that the town will soon be completely purged of Al-Nusra terrorists.

Reports said earlier today that the army units engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra Front in areas surrounding Souran, while the army’s artillery and missile units targeted terrorists’ centers heavily in Souran and Taybat al-Imam towns to back the ground troops.

In the meantime, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets bombed terrorists’ concentration centers in different parts of Northern Hama.

A military source said that the army men targeted and destroyed three suicide bomb-laden vehicles before terrorists could use them to hit the government forces’ positions in Ma’ardes region, adding the army soldiers further engaged with the militants that tried to prevail over the army positions North of Souran, killing a large number of them and repelling their attack.
