Syrians Continue Activities to Support Reform and Reject Media Misdirection

Popular, civil and youth activities continued on Monday to express their support of the comprehensive reform program led by President Bashar al-Assad by organizing rallies and participating in supporting the Syrian Pound and donating blood.

In Aleppo Countryside, thousands from the town of Ein al-Arab and surrounding villages participated in a rally to show support for reform and confront campaigns targeting Syria’s unity and stability.

Participants said the rally expresses rejection of foreign attempts at sowing sedition and causing chaos, lauding the Syrian people’s national unity.

The Jewelers Association in Aleppo launched a campaign to support the Syrian Pound at Commercial Bank no.5, with Chairman of the Association Michel Nuuman saying that the campaign aims at supporting national economy and is driven by personal patriotic motives.
In turn, Director of Aleppo Central Bank said that deposits increased twofold in Aleppo this week, and that banks have a surplus of cash due to the support campaigns that embody citizens’ awareness and patriotic sense.

In Damascus Countryside, thousands participated in a number of rallies to support reform and national unity.

In the town of Dariaa, a large rally was held during which participants carried banners saluting the army and denouncing misleading channels and their incitement campaigns.

Another rally took place in the area of Artouz with the participation of civil, popular and youth groups that affirmed rejection of the conspiracy foiled by the Syrian people, stressing that Syria will emerge stronger than ever.

In Homs, thousands of the governorate’s youths gathered in a rally to support the comprehensive reform process, marching in Zeki al-Arsouzi Street towards the Municipal Stadium and chanting slogans in support of national unity.

The participants stressed that they recognize no flag other than that of Syria which unites the Syrian youth, stressing their support of national dialogue.

Thousands from al-Makhram area in Homs participated in a rally on Sunday to show support for reform, carrying a 1000 meter flag and chanting slogans for the homeland and denounced the conspiracy against Syria.

Lawyers in Homs governorate participated in the blood donation campaign in honor of the Syrian army, with the donors expressing readiness to sacrifice their souls for the sake of the homeland and national unity to preserve Syria’s steadfastness against all dangers.

A delegation from al-Salamiya in Hama governorate visited the Martyr Monument in Damascus within the framework of the popular activities to express national unity and support to the comprehensive reform program.

The delegation lifted the Syrian flag in honor of the army’s role in defending Syria’s security and stability, calling for standing against incitement campaigns targeting their unity.

Students of Damascus University launched a new campaign to support the Syrian Pound at the Real Estate Bank.
In Safita city in Tartous, scores of teachers went to the Real Estate Bank and Postal Savings Bank for the same purpose; supporting the Syrian currency.

Emil Dawood, head of the Postal Savings Bank branch in Tartous, said that the volume of deposits in the Bank and its braches increased by SYP 2.3 billion in April and May, adding that the volume of deposits is doubling each month.

Groups of economic and commercial bodies in the governorate deposited sums of money at a number of banks to contribute to preserving the stabilization of the national currency.

In Lattakia Governorate, Agriculture engineers participated in campaigns to support the families of army and police martyrs in appreciation of their sacrifices and heroism.

In the same context, journalist from Lattakia held a sit-in in front of the Union of Journalists in Lattakia and Tartous, expressing their adherence to a unified, safe and stable Syria.

They stressed that they will work on debunking the misleading media channels concerning the recent events in Syria.

Women in Hasaka province set up on Monday a ‘Homeland Tent’-a tent intended to be a gathering place for citizens-in support of the reform process led by President Bashar al-Assad and rejection of foreign interference in the Syrian internal affairs.

Ghada al-Said, Chairperson of the Syrian Women’s Union branch in Hasaka said such tents are an expression of love for the homeland and a message to the world stressing rejection of foreign interference in its affairs.

Father Yaakoub Farjo said Syria is a ”story of love” where men and women alike vie to preserve it.

Ilham Baghdu, a participant, said the conspiracy is had been laid bare for all the Syrians.

In the same context, the Revolution Youth Union branch in Hasaka organized visits to the families of the martyrs, who sacrificed their souls for the safety of the homeland.
