Teen killed, 3 wounded in Chicago shooting

A masked gunman shot and killed one teenage boy and injured three others in the US city of Chicago on Wednesday, authorities said.

The attack, which appeared to be gang related, happened at a McDonald’s parking lot in the Rogers Park neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side.

A 17-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, a male and female were listed in serious to critical condition at a hospital, and an 18-year-old man was hospitalized with gunshot wound to his arm.

The victims had a verbal fight with several other people outside the McDonald’s just before the shooting, Chicago Police spokesman Daniel O’Brien said.

Chicago Police are still looking for the killer or killers in the incident.

Critics blame the notoriously liberal gun control laws in the United States for the high rate of gun violence in the country.

A recent poll found that an estimated 40 percent of households in the United States have at least one gun owner.

A scientific study published by the American Journal of Medicine in September found that the rate of gun violence is positively correlated with gun ownership rates.
