Tehran to host First Exhibition of Syrian Goods

First Exhibition of Syrian Goods will be held in Tehran from April 28 to May 2, which is the first of its kind outside the Arab country, said Mohammad Hamoud, who is charge of organizing the event.

Talking to IRNA on Tuesday, he added that the event is to be held in line with the implementation of a commercial exchange agreement and the deal on free trade between Iran and Syria signed by Tehran and Damascus in March.

He further noted that the exhibition will provide an opportunity for Iranians to get acquainted with the capacities of Syrian firms.

Stating that Tehran-Damascus economic ties are distinguished, Hamoud added that they will be expanded by such programs as holding exhibitions.

The two countries can be good markets for each other, he said.

Over 260 Syrian companies will display various products in an area of 7,400 square meters.

The exhibition includes foodstuff, animal skin, petrochemical, chemical materials and cosmetics, he said.

Hamoud also said that Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammad Nidal al-Sha’ar and Iran’s Minister of Industries Mehdi Ghazanfari will inaugurate the exhibition.

Economic officials of both states will talk on the sidelines of the event, he noted.
