Tehran wraps up 23rd Intl. Book Fair

Tehran has wrapped up the 23rd edition of its International Book Fair during a ceremony attended by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Addressing the closing ceremony, President Ahmadinejad said the Iranian nation should lead efforts on reforming the cultural state of the world.

He emphasized that by focusing on cultural issues, nations can play a more influential role in the world.

More than five million people visited Tehran’s book fair, which hosted around 2,000 publishers, including 980 international publishers with some 170,000 titles on display.

The 10-day event was held from May 5 to 15 at Tehran’s Grand Prayer Grounds.
