Terrorist Groups in Hama Kidnap 2 Law Enforcement Forces, Attack City’s Council, Justice Palace

The armed terrorist groups in the city of Hama on Tuesday kidnapped two members of law enforcement forces.

The armed groups on motorcycles stormed into the building of the city’s council and ravaged its contents and seized most of service establishments in the city including the Storage and Marketing Establishment, Gas Reservoir and the Directorate of Finance.

The body of a police chief warrant officer, who was kidnapped few days ago, was found.

Armed groups attack several service establishments, burn the Justice Palace

Armed and sabotage groups on Monday afternoon stormed in the Justice Palace of Hama and set some of its departments on fire.

Chief of Hama Lawyers Syndicate told SANA Correspondent that huge columns of thick black smoke rising from the Justice Palace headquarters were observed and the concerned authorities have been informed to control the fire before it spread extensively and save the contents from burning.

SANA Correspondent reported special sources that armed groups of hundreds of armed masked persons on motorbikes attacked the Justice Palace and set parts of it on fire.

The sources added that these groups also attacked the guards of the Justice Palace in al-Sharea area, stormed the headquarters, sabotaged its contents and set it on fire.

Armed groups also attacked a facility for storing vegetables and fruit belonging to the Storage and Shipping Establishment in al-Baath area in Hama.

An official source in HAMA told SANA’s correspondent that the armed groups pillaged the facility, vandalized its furniture and equipment, and dismantled its doors and windows.

A number of army and law-enforcement forces talked about the details of that armed terrorist group’ aggression as Captain Nabih Zribih said, “about 6 o’clock in the morning, while I was fulfilling my duty along with some 20 members, an armed terrorist group of about 1000 armed men attacked us”.

He added that after the attack, the armed group set fire to the police deportment and bombarded it with bombs and dynamites.

Zribih said that his leg was broken because he was hit with a stick by one of the armed group members and there were wounds all over his body because of pump-action shotgun bullets.

He stressed that armed terrorist groups are everywhere since more than a month in Hama province. They set up checkpoints on main roads and check cars thoroughly.

For his part, Sergeant Major Basem Ismael said, “We were commissioned to remove all checkpoints from the city and we were attacked by armed terrorist groups but the tanks came and saved us”.
