Saudi military aircraft have carried out new airstrikes against the international airport in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, as Saudi Arabia’s deadly campaign against the impoverished country continues.

On Thursday evening, the Saudi warplanes fired a number of missiles into the civilian airport, inflicting serious damage to it. There were no immediate reports on possible casualties, Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported.

The Saudi fighter jets also pounded areas located between the towns of Razeh and Shadda in Yemen’s northwestern province of Sa’ada, though there is still no word on the extent of damage and possible fatalities.

Earlier in the day, a civilian was killed and three others wounded after Saudi warplanes struck the presidential compound and the Special Forces camp in the city of Ta’izz, situated 260 kilometers (166 miles) south of Sana’a.

Saudi jets also targeted the office of the Houthi Ansarullah movement’s television channel, al-Masirah, in the city of Sa’ada, located 240 kilometers (150 miles) north of Sana’a. A number of nearby shops and residential buildings were severely damaged in the airstrike.

Al-Masirah TV channel provides up-to-date coverage of the Saudi attacks and ensuing fatalities across the crisis-hit Arab country.

Additionally, Saudi aircraft carried out three aerial attacks against Sahar district in the province of Sa’ada. Six people sustained injuries after Saudi aircraft targeted a house in the province’s Dhahyan district.

Saudi warplanes also bombarded the Salif air defense camp in the city of Hudaydah, located 150 kilometers (93 miles) southwest of Sana’a.

Elsewhere, in Yemen’s central province of Ma’rib, Saudi warplanes launched air raids on an anti-aircraft battalion. No casualties were reported.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 – without a United Nations mandate – in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to the country’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.

On April 21, Riyadh announced the end of the first phase of its unlawful military operations, which claimed the lives of nearly 1,000 people, but airstrikes have continued with Saudi bombers targeting different areas across the country in a new phase.

According to Yemen’s Health Ministry, the Saudi aggression has killed nearly 150 children and around 100 women so far.
