Terrorists Fleeing Eastern Ghouta amid Syrian Army’s Rapid Advance

A large number of terrorists left their positions in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and fled to safer areas after the Syrian army intensified military operations in the region.

The Syrian army could regain control of al-Asha’ari farms West of the town of Hawsh al-Asha’ari while field reports on Thursday said that the town will be liberated soon.

Also, local sources from inside the town reported that the terrorists have lost their morale and fled towards the town of Aftarish.

The terrorists first attacked the army positions in al-Mohammadiyeh and Hawsh al-Asha’ari farms but army soldiers warded off their offensive and forced them to flee.

The army units then continued the operations in Eastern Ghouta, regaining control of a number of farms South-East of the town of al-Reihan and East of Hawsh al-Asha’ari region.

Meantime, the Syrian army forces could win back control of a large part of the strategic town of al-Reihan, further advancing in other areas after driving the terrorists out.

They also advanced in a limited area near the town of Mesraba, inching closer to the town of Douma.

A military source who called for anonymity said that the army troops stationed in Mesraba farms could take back control of al-Masjed al-Ahmar region after clashes with the terrorists.

They also gained back control of several buildings and farms after clashes with the terrorists in the Eastern parts of al-Birouni hospital in Harasta.

Military sources said on Wednesday that the Syrian Army troops managed to further advance against terrorists in Eastern Ghouta and are about to lay siege on the towns of Douma and Mesraba.

The sources said that the army units managed to prevail over the terrorists’ positions and deploy near the town of Douma, Jeish al-Islam’s center in Eastern Ghouta.

Also, the army men, deployed in the Northwestern part of Eastern Ghouta, stormed terrorists’ strongholds near the town of Mesraba from the Southern and Northern parts of al-Ab Farms.

In the meantime, other units of the army move towards Mesraba from Beit Sawa, local sources said.

The army has gained fire-control over Mesraba and Beit Sawa.

According to another military source, the army is expected to launch a large-scale attack on the two towns in the coming hours, as they mount more pressure on the remaining militants in the region.

Once the army frees Mesraba and Beit Sawa it will advance against militants in the depth of Eastern Ghouta to join their comrades that are advancing in Eastern Ghouta from al-Nashaboyeh settlement direction.
