Terrorists in More Regions Stop Fighting against Syrian Army

The Russian Defense Ministry said in its latest report on Wednesday that gunmen in more regions surrendered to the Syrian Army.

The Russian ministry’s report said that militants in more regions laid down arms and joined peace with the army, and added, “The total number of regions, towns, settlements and villages that have thus far joined nationwide reconciliation plan stands at 2, 276,”

The report further said that reconciliation talks between the army and leader of militant groups are underway in the provinces of Homs, Quneitra, Hama, Damascus, Aleppo and Idlib.

Relevant reports said last month that around 100 militants in the Northeastern parts of Aleppo province laid down their arms and turned themselves in to authorities.

The militants formerly fighting in Manbij region in Northeastern Aleppo surrendered themselves and their arms to the Syrian government and filed request for amnesty to return to normal life as the forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad continue gaining ground across the country.
