Terrorists Start Withdrawal from Eastern Ghouta Base after Army Evacuates Hundreds of Civilians

Terrorists retreated from their positions in the town of Hamouriyeh in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus as hundreds of civilians were evacuated from the region.

Field sources reported on Thursday that the army forces have captured a vast area of farms, buildings and plants in Northeastern Hamouriyeh.

They underlined collapse and shrinking control of the terrorists over their lines in Hamouriyeh, saying that they have started withdrawal towards the village of Hazeh in Western Hamouriyeh.

Meantime, reports said that hundreds of civilians have left the region through the Hamouriyeh corridor towards areas controlled by the Syrian army.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced earlier today that tens of civilians have left Eastern Ghouta via a safe corridor on the 16th day of ceasefire in the region after a bilateral agreement with the army.

Head of Russia’s Reconciliation Center in Syria Yuri Yuftshenko said that 131 Syrian civilians, including 53 children, managed to exit Eastern Ghouta after an agreement was reached between the Syrian army and the terrorists.

The Russian defense ministry referred to the two-day ceasefire in the town of Douma in Eastern Ghouta, stressing that 437 civilians have left the region through the safe corridors so far.

The center declared on Tuesday that the first group of civilians left terrorist-held areas in Eastern Ghouta for safer regions under the Syrian army’s control via a humanitarian corridor after an agreement between militants and the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria.

The Russian center said that the first group of civilians left terrorist-held regions in Douma via al-Wafedeen humanitarian corridor.

Also, other sources said that the first group of people, included 45 civilians and a number of the injured left terrorist-held regions in Douma via al-Wafedeen, adding that the second group was to leave the region later.

Also, the Russian Army General Staff reported that a sum of 1,000 civilians and terrorists are to leave Eastern Ghouta based on an agreement with the militants.
