The Syrian Army said on Tuesday that its soldiers and the country’s National Defense Forces (NDF) continued to push back the militant groups from more territories in the mountainous regions of Lattakia province near border with Turkey.

The Syria government forces stormed the militant groups’ defense lines in Arafit, Yaqubar, Mughayriyah and Kafr Dulbah in the Northeastern part of the province, and forced the terrorists to retreat from the battlefronts, the army said.

“12 of the militants were killed or wounded in the Syrian forces’ attacks,” it added.

“The army also seized large amounts of the militants’ weapons and ammunition,” they said.

Also, the Syrian army captured Beit Fares village in Lattakia after several hours of clashes with the terrorists.

The Syrian army and its allies, backed up by the Russian and Syrian fighter jets, have gained eye-catching victories against the militant groups in the coastal province in recent weeks.

On Monday, the Syrian army, backed by the National Defense Groups, won back two key villages in Lattakia in a new setback to the Takfiri militants.

The Syrian forces regained control of the villages of Akko and Bouz al-Kherba in Lattakia.

Informed sources said scores of terrorists were killed and injured in the military operations.

On Sunday, military sources announced that the Syrian Army alongside the country’s popular forces continued pushing back the militant groups from mountainous regions near the border with Turkey, after fierce clashes with the terrorists.

The militants’ concentration centers near Tell Ghazaleh came under massive attack of the Syrian army men and the NDF on Sunday, the sources said.

“The pro-government forces’ operation forced the militants to withdraw from the battle zone after leaving behind scores of dead and wounded members,” the sources further added.

“Tell Ghazaleh and its surrounding areas are now under full control of the Syrian forces,” the military officials said.

The Syrian army and its allies’ joint operations in Lattakia province have significantly pushed back the militants from different villages, heights and towns near border with Turkey.
