The Independent: Hizbullah, Iran Are Making ’Israel’ Appear Isolated

120977795_gfdh_381906cThe Independent wrote that Zionist army Chief of Staff Benny Gantz “has reason to be wary of the power of Hizbullah,” giving an example of the 2006 July war and a recent example of Hizbullah”carrying out a successful campaign” in terms of the conflict in Syria, in an article published on its website on Monday.

The Independent wrote that Gantz “has reason to be wary of the power of Hizbullah,” adding that he was a senior commander in 2006 when Hizbullah fought a bitter campaign against the “Israelis.”

The article gave a more recent example of Hizbullah’s power, saying that, “More recently [the Hizbullah resistance fighers] have been carrying out a successful campaign in the Syrian conflict.

On Monday, Gantz declared that Hizbullah has more lethal firepower than all except the most major countries in the world.
“Show me four or five states with more firepower than Hizbullah: the US, China, Russia, “Israel,” France, the UK,” Gantz said.

The article wrote that Gantz’s elevation of Hizbullah to the level of nuclear-armed Security Council members is “fanciful,” assuming that he probably meant they were pre-eminent in the region.
It added that Turkey and Egypt will take issue with Gantz’s view about the capabilities of their forces.

Nevertheless, The Independent article also wrote that Gantz was making the point that Hizbullah remains the biggest “threat” to “Israel” and it has likely improved its capabilities since 2006, particularly as a result of its experience in Syria.

Gantz also said on Monday that, “The bad news from our point of view, is that while Hizbullah is fighting on three fronts… it is also amassing experience which we will one day face.”

On the point of Iran, The Independent further wrote that as ministers have claimed, “Israel” could go for military strikes against Iran alone without the US, but there seems to be little appetite for that.

Recently, Gantz and War minister Moshe Ya’alon announced that the Summer’s ‘Home Front Drill’, to prepare the population for “enemy” missile attack, was being cancelled. This was due, they said, to lack of funds.

The article added that there is also general consensus that the US and the West are in no mood to start another conflict with what has been unfolding in Ukraine and in Syria.

Additionally, The Independent wrote that Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears to have given up on US President Barack Obama, especially after Washington ignored “Israeli” calls to boycott the new Palestinian government.

“Israel” has announced it will build hundreds of new housing units in the occupied West Bank and occupied east al-Quds in retaliation for the Palestinian unity deal.

The Independent wrote that at a session at Herzliya on Sunday, which was entitled, “”Israeli” Leaders Debate “Peace,”” it showed that there was little by way of debate. The speakers- four of whom were ministers, including former Zionist prime minister Tzipi Livni- revealed how deeply Netanyahu’s coalition government is itself split on these most fundamental of issues for the “Israeli” entity.
