The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting to launch Salamat channel on individual, society health


The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) plans to launch a high-definition (HD) network that will air programs focusing on health issues.

The new over-the-air digital channel, named Salamat, will soon start its 24-hour broadcast in the capital Tehran and then all over Iran.

The new channel aims to raise public awareness about health and well-belling in the society, help lower disease rates among people and further explore Iran’s potential in the health sector.

Iran has recently launched a full high-definition (HD) network, called Pouya which mostly broadcasts domestically-produced animations for children and young adults in Iran.

Pouya enjoys Full HD television display technology that surpasses the video quality and sharpness of the original high-definition television technology, providing an image resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels.

Iran’s first full HD channel, Hispan TV, was officially launched on December 21, 2011. The Spanish-language channel broadcasts a wide range of news, educational, and scientific programs.

Iran’s second full HD channel, named Varzesh, went on air on March 17.
