The Leader of Islamic Ummah Imam Khamenei advises Muslim rulers to keep a distance from hegemons

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has advised the leaders of countries that have experienced the Islamic Awakening to keep a safe distance from the hegemonistic powers.
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks in Tehran on Tuesday during a meeting with the participants of the two-day international conference on university professors and the Islamic Awakening, which was brought to a close in the Iranian capital on the same day.

Two hundred and fifty foreign professors and 350 Iranian professors attended the conference, which was held on the theme of “Promotion of Justice and Islamic Democracy.”

In his speech, The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei stated that the enemies are “making great efforts to prevent the term ‘Islamic Awakening’ from being used for the current great movement in the region because the enemies are extremely afraid of the promotion of true Islam.”

“We believe that the current great movement is a true Islamic awakening, which will continue and will not be derailed easily,” The Supreme Leader said.

The pro-democracy uprisings in certain Arab countries are Islamic in nature, the Leader stated, noting, “The people’s Islamic slogans in regional revolutions and the role of those who believe in Islam in organizing massive demonstrations and toppling corrupt regimes all prove that the movement is Islamic.”

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei added, “Today, if free and sound elections are held, and if Muslim leaders and politicians are on the scene, the people will vote for Islamists in most parts of the Muslim world.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei commented on the uprisings that occurred in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya, saying that the challenges facing the revolutions and their objectives should be identified.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei noted that “emancipation from the global hegemony” is one of the objectives of the Islamic Awakening, adding, “This issue must be stated clearly because any assumption that the global hegemons, spearheaded by the United States, can come to terms with Islamic movements is false.

“Whenever Islam and Islamists are present, the United States will make every effort to eliminate them.”

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei also noted, “We are not telling them to engage in a confrontation with the hegemons, but they will be deceived if they do not set (a) distance (from them).”

In his speech, the Supreme Leader also commented on the situation in Bahrain, saying, “Unfortunately, in the issue of Bahrain, we are witnessing the silence of the Muslim world, which has its roots in an incorrect understanding of the issue.”

On the Syrian crisis, The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei stated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is opposed to shedding a drop of blood of any Muslim, but the main culprits in the current situation are those who caused the situation to deteriorate into civil war, destruction, and fratricide.”

“All popular demands should be met through conventional means and without violence,” The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei observed.
