917001_origThe Iranian parliament and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have promised that they would cooperate with the government of new president, Hassan Rohani.
A statement issued by 225 MPs on Monday read, “We emphasize the opportunity created for the country and announce our readiness to cooperate with the president-elect in order to fulfill the promises made to the people during the electoral process and state that we are ready to make every effort to help realize (his) plans.”

Also, IRGC issued a statement on Sunday announcing its “complete readiness to cooperate and interact with the next government in regard to its responsibilities and legal duties.”

Rohani, who had been endorsed by former presidents Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mohammad Khatami, won 50.71 percent of the vote in the June 14 election, far outpacing the other candidates.

He has promised to set the country back on the path of moderation.
