Syria Army says has made more gains

The Syrian Army says it has made more gains in clearing the country of foreign-backed militants, inflicting heavy losses on them.

The official news agency SANA reported on Thursday that in the city of Homs in central Syria, the army killed a large number of terrorists and destroyed their weapons in the neighborhoods of al-Khalidieh, Bab Hood, al-Warsheh, al-Hamedieh, Joret al-Shayyah and al-Qusour.
The government troops also dismantled dozens of improvised explosive devices in the streets and in buildings.
In the north, Syrian army units cleared the village of Misbin near Ariha in the Idlib countryside of the militants and captured a hideout for making explosives.
The army also killed and wounded many members of armed groups in the governorates of Damascus, Daraa, and Hama. Several insurgents were also reportedly killed during the operations.
The offensive follows gains in Homs province by the Syrian troops in recent weeks.
The army established control over the strategically important town of Qusayr, between Homs and the Lebanese border, in early June. Syrian troops were backed by forces from the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah during the Qusayr operation.
The government troops have recently conducted successful clean-up operations across the country, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.
The Syrian Army’s push against the militants rattled their sponsors.
