The Syrian Clan Elders in Deir Ezzor Ask Army to Interfere to Stop Terrorists’ Crimes

A number of clan elders in Deir Ezzor Governorate stressed that some sides in the governorate encourage violence, reject dialogue and support the armed persons to execute external agenda for money.

Hammoud Hassan al-Fannash, one of al-Akeidat clan elders, told the Syrian TV “We’ve talked with all sides and spoken with youths, at the beginning they understood us and went on peaceful protests… But later, some external sides interfered and paid money for some persons to sabotage the country.”

Al-Fannash said those sides encouraged people to go on protests, stressing that these armed terrorists are the ones who are committing crimes and blaming the army for them.

He added that Islam doesn’t accept such acts which aim at destroying Syria, stressing that those foreign vandals won’t succeed in their plot.

“Last week, external sides paid money for people to carry weapons, make checkpoints and frisk people… They killed citizens and sent images and videos to the misleading media channels, accusing the army of committing these crimes… The army didn’t enter the city, and all news broadcast by the misleading media channels are false and aim at undermining Syria stability… We in Syria, army and people, are united,” al-Fannash added.

He called upon the army to enter the city to protect the citizens and preserve the public and private properties.

Al-Fannash indicated that the law enforcement personnel and the clan elders know the names of those saboteurs.

For his part, Obaid Aouad al-Jasim, said that the army should interfere and deal with those people who received money from known external sides for committing vandalism and crimes.

“There was a problem between two persons, when I asked about the problem, one of them told me that the other person told a group of people that he will give them money if they went on demonstrations, and they protested for four hours, but then, this man gave them SYP 1500 only.” He said.

For his part, Sheikh Sari Mohammad Hassan al-Jabir, said “We should think and act rationally because that is the only solution for this crisis”.

Sobhi al-Hannan, one of al-Baggara clan elders told the Syrian TV “We spoke with the protesters four months ago, all of them were previously convicted and jobless people… We are waiting for the army to interfere and we won’t allow any external side to interfere in the Syrian internal affairs… We hope these blocks will be removed within a week”.
