Tens of thousands of people attended on Friday the 20th anniversary of al-Aqsa in Danger Festival in Umm al-Fahm city within the Green Line amid large participation of Palestinian national and Islamic figures.

Mayor of the city Sheikh Khaled Hamdan hailed the large participation in the 20th anniversary of the festival, saying that his city would be always ready for the protection of al-Aqsa Mosque.

For his part, representative of the Islamic Movement Sheikh Nael Fawaz stressed the need for unifying Palestinian efforts in defense of al-Aqsa Mosque in light of the Israeli escalated threats to the holy shrine.

He also stressed the importance of intensifying Palestinian presence in al-Aqsa, calling on Arab and Islamic countries to support the steadfastness of Jerusalemites.

In his turn, head of the Islamic Supreme Council in Jerusalem Sheikh Ikrema Sabri hailed the steadfastness of Palestinian worshipers who are daily present in the mosque’s courtyards in challenge to the Israeli Judaization attempts and settlers’ daily break-ins.

Al-Aqsa Mosque will be always the central issue for all Muslims in occupied Jerusalem, within the Green Line, the West Bank, Gaza, and all over the world in spite of the occupation’s will, he said.

Sheikh Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands, stressed that the best response to Israeli minister Moshe Ya’lon ‘s threats to Palestinian worshipers is to intensify their presence in al-Aqsa Mosque on a daily basis.

In his speech, Sheikh Salah pointed to the Israeli attempts to impose the alleged temple at the expense of the Mosque or to force its partition between Muslims and Jews.
