Three Al-Qaeda Members Arrested in Western Iran

Three members of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization have been arrested by the Iranian army at the country’s Western orders, a senior army commander announced on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, Commander of the Army’s Kermanshah Cavalry Division General Ali Hajilou lauded the army’s prompt move in protecting the country’s border regions.

“For instance” he said “we have arrested three al-Qaeda members in the country’s Western border regions in recent months and handed them over to the relevant authorities.”

Also today, Iran’s Police Chief Brigadier General Esmayeel Ahmadi Moqaddam hailed the high level of security in the country, and said each and every part of the country enjoys full security.

“Now, we have no insecure point in the country and we cannot say that security in (the Southeastern) province of Kerman is lower than Sistan and Balouchestan (province) or security in (the Central province of) Isfahan is higher than Tehran’s security,” Ahmadi Moqaddam said in Iran’s Southwestern city of Yasouj.

He added that the country has registered the best security record during the current Iranian year (ends on March 20) despite enemies’ pressure and efforts to spark unrest and chaos in the country.
