Tiger Forces capture Za’lanah village from ISIS in east Aleppo

On Friday afternoon in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – backed by Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – imposed full control over the village of Za’lanah after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

According to a battlefield source, the village of Za’lanah is located along the Raqqa-Aleppo Highway; its capture today has resulted in the Syrian Armed Forces surrounding ISIS at the Aleppo Thermal Power Plant from three different flanks. In addition to the capture of Za’lanah, the Tiger Forces and their allies also capture the Jubb Al-Ghabishah Farms that are located east of the aforementioned village.

Currently, the Tiger Forces and their allies are storming the Aleppo Thermal Power Plant’s compounds from the eastern perimeter; however, they have yet to breach ISIS’ front-line defenses at the strategic hilltop of Tal Abu Danah, which is located only 300 meters from the premises. In the coming hours, the battle for the Aleppo Thermal Power Plant will likely intensify as the Tiger Forces and their allies strike the facility from a new flank.
