Tiger Forces Expand the Buffer-Zone Around the Kuweires Military Airport

Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” and their allies from Hezbollah and the National Defense Forces (NDF) are rolling in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside after capturing the village of ‘Aqulah over the weekend.

Earlier today, the Tiger Forces and their allies launched a powerful assault on the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) defensive positions at the Rasm Al-‘Abid Grain Silos, killing over 15 enemy combatants and destroying 3 armored vehicles that were mounted with 14.5mm anti-aircraft machine guns.

Following a violent confrontation with the ISIS combatants, the Tiger Forces and their allies imposed full control over the Rasm Al-‘Abid Grain Silos, further expanding their buffer zone around the southern perimeter of the Kuweires Military Airport and the strategic Aleppo-Raqqa Highway.

As a result of their success at the Rasm Al-‘Abid Grain Silos, the Tiger Forces and their allies are now within striking distance of the strategic hilltop village of Tal Al-Ahmar; this aforementioned village is used by ISIS to launch mortar shells and rockets into the Kuweires Military Airport’s southern sector.

In a matter of 24 hours, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah have captured almost 10 square kilometers of territory to the south of the Kuweires Military Airport, as the ISIS terrorists continue their wide-scale retreat across the Deir Hafer Plains of east Aleppo.
