Total Number of Terrorist-Held Towns Liberated by Syrian Army Exceeds 230 since January

 

The Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria announced in a statement on Saturday that 236 towns have been freed from ISIL terrorists since the beginning of this year.

“The number of inhabited areas, which had been liberated since January 1, 2017 by the Syrian troops from the ISIL has reached 236,” the bulletin published on the Russian Defense Ministry’s website said.

“The total number of inhabited areas, the leaders of which had signed reconciliation agreements remained 1,470. Negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have continued with field commanders of opposition groups in Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Hama, and Quneitra provinces,” it added.

The center announced earlier this month that over 200 towns were freed from terrorists since the beginning of this year.

“The total number of liberated towns by the army men since the start of 2017 stands now at 227,” the Russian center said.

The Russian center further added that 3,950 sq/km of land was captured by the army soldiers from terrorists since January 1.
