Tripartite Meeting Between Iranian, Iraqi and Syrian Oil Ministers in Baghdad

Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi on Wednesday stressed that a tripartite meeting combining Iranian, Iraqi and Syrian oil ministers will be held in January in Baghdad to follow-up the implementation of the gas pipeline project with a total capacity of 80 million cubic meters per day.

Qasemi pointed out that the pipeline will pass through Iraq to Syria as to be connected with the Syrian gas network.

Meeting Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Adnan Mahmoud, Iranian Oil Minister said that his country will spare no effort to support Syria in the face of the war waged against it by the US and western and regional countries.

For his part, Ambassador Mahmoud underlined the importance of accelerating the implementation of this project due to its strategic importance in meeting the need of the three countries for this material.

The Iranian gas project will supply Syria with 20 million cubic meters of gas per day.
