Turkey Launches New Air Raids in Northern Iraq

On Monday, Iraqi local media reported that Turkey had once again struck the Amedi region of Duhok province.

No potential casualties were reported immediately following the airstrikes.

Media sources reported on Wednesday that the Turkish airforce had conducted airstrikes on multiple villages in Metin Mountain, located in Dohuk Province in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region.

According to an eyewitness, Turkey has been launching airstrikes in the region for the past week, causing widespread fear and anxiety amongst the people living there.

Occasionally, the Turkish military conducts air strikes against purported PKK sites, which are viewed as a terrorist organization by the European Union, United States, and Turkey.

It is reported that the Turkish military has established more than a dozen military bases in northern Iraq and numerous others in Syria, claiming to be fighting terrorism.

Ankara has been strongly criticized by both Iraq and Syria for its military presence on their respective soil, which has been deemed a violation of their respective territorial integrity. Both countries have urged Turkey to withdraw its troops immediately.
