Turkish Media: Government retreating downed jet’s airspace claim

One of prominent Turkish newspaper claimed that Turkish government is changing its policy concerning the claim that downed jet was inside the international airspace.

The reason for the policy change is claimed to be the evidences taken from the jet wreckage.National Intelligence Institution (MIT) is still trying to have evidences to prove the thesis of Davutoglu and Erdogan which claims the jet was downed by a Syrian missile fired by Syrian Air Defense.

Turkish Minister of Defense Ismet Yılmaz and Military Spokesman Brigader General Baki Kavun expressed that they have no clear evidence which proves the jet was hit by a missile.The only option on the table is said to be simple machine gun used by Syrian army.

President Abdullah Gul also stated the investigation is still going on and asked If any document or evidence is available it should be brought.This fact also questions the claim of Turkish government and makes the airspace argument questionable.

Syrian had urged two sides to investigate the photographs that show the jet was hit with bullets from its tail.
