‘Turning threats into opportunities is a must’

Ayatollah Sayyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri stated that the election of Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi to the chairmanship of the Assembly of Experts, was “successfully and fairly realized without any influence or external pressures, and this election can be an appropriate model in other areas and Ayatollah Khamenei has praised it.”

His Eminence compared this election to the 1989 election of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei to the lofty position of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, saying that after the passing of Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (RA), the enemies sought to create a turbulent atmosphere, thinking Iran had been weakened, and emphasized that to this day, they still continue to work to disrupt the Islamic Republic of Iran, reported Rasa.

Qom’s Friday prayers’ leader explained that the concerns of the people regarding the present economic situation and the resistance economy, cultural and nuclear issues and the problems created in neighbouring countries should be addressed by the Assembly of Experts.

Ayatollah Bushehri emphasized the importance of Islamic law in all sectors of society, adding that the hostility of the enemies toward pure Islam and their plan to spread Islamophobia endangers the interests of Islam. In order to combat Islamophobia, we must turn the enemies’ threats into opportunities. He stated this is possible by researching the origins of the problems facing society and not having to rely on an oil-based economy.

He added that Ayatollah Khamenei has stressed to Iran’s negotiating team that he has believes in them and supports their ongoing negotiations with the P5+1 group of countries but is worried because the enemies’ problems, saying that the United States is a supporter of the Zionist regime and has been caught up in political decay – alluding to the recent letter sent by a group of Republican senators to Iran’s leaders in which they threatening to undo any nuclear deal between Washington and Tehran.

Ayatollah Bushehri referred to the celebration of the Iranian new year, Norouz, at the same time as a the sorrowful commemoration of the Days of Fatimiyah, saying: “Although Norouz is a season of joy and we do not want it to leave us, but the dignity and status of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (S) must be given its due importance. If her dignity and status is maintained until the end, one’s life is insured. Also, one should think of the poor and the needy during the new year.”

His Eminence also emphasized the importance of honouring the martyrs of the Iran-Iraq War, saying the authority, glory and honour of the Islamic Revolution today is due to the blood they shed. Due their great sacrifices, veterans and the martyrs’ families should be offered financial and cultural services so that the new generation and the children of the martyrs can make great accomplishments in the fields of culture.
