Following a terrorist attack in the border province of Sistan-Baluchistan in Iran, local officials say gunmen have fatally shot two policemen in the region.

The two policemen, killed in separate attacks in the city of Iranshahr, were shot as they patrolled the area on their motorbikes, a local police official, Mohammad Arab, told Mehr News Agency.

It is not clear whether the killings were in connection with Sunday’s suicide attack.

At least 41 people, including ranking commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), were killed on Sunday when a suicide bomber blew himself up during a unity conference between Sunni and Shia tribal leaders in the borderline region of Pishin in the province.

The Pakistan-based terrorist group Jundallah has taken responsibility for the deadly attack.
