Two US-led troops killed in Afghanistan

A bomb blast has killed two more US-led soldiers in eastern Afghanistan, NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) says.

ISAF said in a statement on Saturday that the soldiers lost their lives in the incident on Friday.

It did not reveal the nationality of the troops.

Roadside bombs are by far the most lethal weapons Taliban militants use against foreign troops, Afghan forces as well as civilians.

The latest deaths bring to 45 the number of foreign troopers killed in the war-ravaged Afghanistan this month. June, nonetheless, remains the worst month for foreign troops with a death toll of 103. A total of 535 foreign soldiers have been killed in the Afghanistan so far this year.

The US Army has lost 1,302 soldiers since October 2001 when Washington unleashed the US-led invasion of Afghanistan.
