Since last many years Saudi Arabia and Turkey, two major players in the region have made wide strides in shaping the politics of the ‘Greater Middle East’. One of them rather intelligently has started a war in the region while weakening the Palestinian resistance. Another also along the same lines has been intruding in the internal affairs of an opposing neighboring country but without any regard to the international diplomatic etiquettes. Both of them have brought on to themselves nothing but humiliation particularly in their policies towards Gaza, Syria, the Kurds and Yemen.
1. Gaza:

During the Israel’s attack in Gaza, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey responded in peculiar ways. Saudi Arabia along with Qatar responded a little sensibly by asking to implement the resolution of the Security Council. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey have supported to arm the terrorists against the government of Bashar Al-Assad neglecting a careful, sensible policy.

ISIS threatened to turn Gaza to shreds and blood. ISIS and Israel hand in hand.

One equipped various terrorists groups with weapons while the other two helped these terrorists financially. Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Attiyah. Foreign minister of Qatar, advised Palestinian groups to give up resistance against the encroachments of the Zionist regime by asking them to come together under the banner of the Arab league and then to find ways to end the occupation. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish Prime Minister, in accordance with the advice from the big powers also toned down his criticism regarding Israel’s attacks on Gaza in the Security Council. While responding to the possibility of any steps Turkey may take to stop the atrocities of the Zionist regime, he argued that Turkey has no relation at all with the Zionist regime. Erdogan, by saying such brief statements preferred to remain indifferent to the atrocities of the Zionist terrorist regime in the region.

2. Syria:

Turkey and Saudi have employed known terrorists to end the political stability in Syria. There is a lot of evidence that Turkish airports have been offering material support to terrorist groups active in Syria. Even such countries have remained elusive to their support of ISIS.

But one cannot ignore their uttermost humiliation in the address of Joe Biden given at Harvard who disclosed the role of Turkey and Saudi Arabia in founding and supporting ISIS. He stated that Erdogan, told me in person how turkey increased its support in terms of weapons and other resources to fund the upheaval in Syria. This disclosure made Turkey, Saudi, and their allies furious but none of them have been able to deny it.
Another report from the Russian Security Council clearly describes how the government of Erdogan supported ISIS in Syria and Iraq. It states that much of the advanced weapons and material support have been provided to the terrorist groups by Turkey e.g. Erdogan’s government along with the help of western countries bought 200 Toyota pickups, equipped them with weapons and communication devices and then granted them to ISIS. This report affirms that Ankara assisted ISIS in providing spare parts of heavy and medium war machines and equipment that ISIS has captured from the armies of Iraq and Syria.
In the last several weeks, when the documents and pictures of the Turkish ministry of information sending weapons to Syria instead of humanitarian aid in January 2014 through the Gendarmerie force, circulated over the internet. Turkish Court ordered to filter all such websites that contain such pictures and videos.

3. The Kurds

When ISIS was running away from ayn-al-arab (Kobani) Turkish Prime minister wanted to break the Kurds away from the Syrian government.

Is this a confession of Erdogan’s party about the dirty plan in Middle East?

For the last many years, Turkey’s borders have been open for terrorists going to Syria by granting them tourists visas. This time, to attain support from Kobani and to restrict the conflict with ISIS, Turkey was looking for an opportunity to have Kurds wage a war with Syria instead, hence weakening the Kurds as well to lay the foundation of a Euro-Ottoman Imperialism in the region (Erdogan’s long time dream).

4. Yemen

Saudi Arabia by forming a 12 country alliance was looking to bring Yemen down to its knees within a week of carrying the air strikes. However, even after 100 days of the operation ‘decisive storm’ and later ‘return of hope’ none of the initial objectives have been attained. Objectives such as retrograding the influence of Houthis and retaining the presidency of Mansur Hadi. Houthis not only refused to put down weapons but expanded their influence all over Yemen except the Hadermot, a desert region with no strategic importance. Any announcement of ceasefire by Saudi Arabia is considered nothing short of the defeat of Saudia Arabia and its allies.

Erdogan stated that they had been informed about the attack on Yemen beforehand

These two aspects, widening control of Ansar Allah (Houthis) in Yemen and the defeat of Saudi Arabia in attaining their initial objectives, resulted in strengthening the nationalistic sentiment in Yemen, and resulted in making Saudi Arabia a laughing stock in the region.
Another humiliation faced by Saudi in the Yemen crisis is their inability to convince Pakistan to join the allied forces against Yemen. When the parliament of Pakistan voted against any military intervention in Yemen, this added to the strategic embarrassment of the Saudis.
