U.S, Israel-backed and financed Syria opposition names London ambassador

The Syrian National Coalition for Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (SNCROF) has announced Walid Safur as its ambassador in London shortly after British Foreign Secretary William Hague officially recognized the new opposition bloc.

This comes as French President Francois Hollande announced earlier in late November that the newly-formed opposition coalition in the Arab country, seeking to force President Bashar al-Assad’s government out of office, will have an ambassador in France.

Last week, the UK Foreign Secretary announced London’s decision to recognize the opposition group “as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people”.

Hague also promised a £1 million package of communication support for insurgents in Syria, including mobile internet hubs and satellite phones, while critics said that the new British financial assistance is by no means humanitarian.

Syria has been experiencing a deadly unrest since March 2011 and many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
