UAE tightens passport control after terror incident

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has tightened security checks of Western passports after a Hamas commander was murdered by an alleged Israeli terror team that entered the country carrying European and Australian passports.

Dubai police Chief Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim said Tuesday that Western passports will be closely inspected “after Israel’s abuse of passports from Western countries.”

Tamim said he was now certain that Israel’s spy agency, Mossad, was behind the terrorist murder of Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.

“I am now completely sure that it was Mossad,” he added.

Twelve British, six Irish, four French, three Australian and a German passport were used by 26 named suspects, according to the Dubai police, who announced that they have fled the UAE on flights to Europe and Asia.

“The officers of the immigration service will now look twice if they have any doubt about the documents or photos, and will scan them,” the police lieutenant general said.

Tamim said earlier that most of the terror suspects would be found in Israel.

Israel has so far refused to confirm or deny the involvement of its notorious spy agency Mossad, known have carried out numerous other terrorist operations around the world using forged foreign passports to facilitate the free movement of its terror elements.
