Unemployed graduates protest joblessness in Tunis

Unemployed people with university degrees have demonstrated in the Tunisian capital Tunis to protest joblessness in the country.

According to Press TV, on Monday, the group marched in downtown Tunis to show their anger at high unemployment rates, public sector hiring policies, and proposed austerity measures.
Halima, an unemployed graduate protester said, “Our demands are not political. We are protesting for jobs. We are asking for bread, bread and bread.”
Monday’s demonstration was organized by the Union of Unemployed Graduates (UDC), which has criticized the controversial 2014 budget.
The demonstration came after the interim government announced a decision to freeze recruitment in public administrations until the end of the transitional period.
