Unknown assailants kill 10 in Nigeria’s Borno state

At least 10 people have been killed after unknown gunmen attacked a church in northeast Nigeria, security officials say.

The attack took place on Sunday in Chibok village in Borno State.

According to a Nigerian security official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, hours before the attack assailants also burnt down government buildings in Gamboru Ngala situated about 140 kilometers (80 miles) from Maiduguri, which is the capital of Borno State.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.

On August 7, at least 19 people, including a priest have lost their lives and more than a dozen others injured after gunmen opened fire on worshipers in Kogi state, about 250 kilometers southwest of Nigeria’s capital Abuja.
