URGENT: Terrorist Pull Back Fighters from More Territories in Lattakia

The Syrian Army announced on Wednesday that it has pushed back militants from more positions in the Northeast of Lattakia province near the newly liberated town of Salma.

“The militant groups retreated forces from the village of Sheikh Khalil after the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces’ (NDF) heavy offensive,” the army said.

“The militant groups suffered a heavy death toll and pulled back the rest of forces in order to evade more casualties,” the army added.

Sources said earlier today that the NDF, in a rapid advance on Wednesday, pushed the militant groups back from a mountainous village Northeast of Lattakia province after hours of fierce clashes, the army said.

“The NDF stormed the militants’ defense lines near the village of al-Marouniyat in the Northwestern part of the newly liberated town of Salma and drove back the terrorists from the battlefield,” the army said.

“The militant groups left behind scores of the dead and wounded members and fled the battlefront,” the army added.
