US banks ‘almost synonymous with criminal syndicates’

Americans distrust banks because they have “ample evidence” that the financial institutions have been “almost synonymous with criminal syndicates” during the U.S. financial crisis, says Dave Lindorff, Philadelphia-based author and investigative journalist.

He told Press TV’s U.S. Desk on Saturday that American people see bankers as “greedy” businessmen who “try to make as much as they can.”

A new poll by Gallup suggests that 36 percent of Americans have “very little” or “no” confidence in U.S. banks, the highest percentage on record since Gallup first started tracking that data.
