‘US deeply dependent on Zionist lobby’

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) says US President Barack Obama’s UN address proves Washington’s profound dependence on the Zionist lobby.

Speaking in a meeting with Hamas Political Chief Khalid Meshaal on Monday, Saeed Jalili added that the US and its allies were trying in vain to prevent the mobilization of new capacities against the West and the global hegemony.

He added that Israel was moving towards decline and present circumstances provided Palestinians with a historical opportunity to achieve their goals, including the liberation of all of their lands.

Jalili said the liberation of Palestine could serve as the unifying point of Islamic Awakening movements in different countries and could increase the motivation of nations to fight arrogant powers and restore the rights which have been downtrodden by the Zionist regime and the West.

Meshaal, who attended the 5th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada in Tehran, expressed gratitude towards Iran for organizing the conference.

He added that the fall of the regional allies of Israel due to Islamic Awakening had completely isolated the Zionist regime.

Meshaal noted that after the US failed to protect its regional allies like the former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak it tried to pass itself as a supporter of nations, but people’s awareness has foiled that attempt.

Rejecting any plan to recognize Zionist Israel, he underlined the need to continue resistance until the recognition of all Palestinian rights.

Representatives, parliament speakers and scholars from different countries as well as a number of Palestinian leaders attended the two-day intifada conference which opened on Oct. 1, 2011.

The conference, with the motto of “Palestine, Homeland of Palestinians,” focused on the restoration of Palestinian rights, including the right to return to their homeland and determine their fate as well as the liberation of Palestinian territories occupied by zionsit Israel.
