The Syrian army clashes with Takfiri insurgents in a Syrian town near Deir Ezzor on Sunday, after terrorists committed a deadly massacre there and abducted hundreds of civilians.

Al-Manar sources in Syria reported that fierce clashes took place between ISIL Takfiri group (so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Levant) and the Syrian army who is trying to retake Al-Baghaliyeh suburb.

The sources said that ISIL terrorists launched a deadly assault on Al-Baghaliyeh on Saturday, killing at least 280 people, most of them are civilians.

“At least 30 ISIL suicide bombers blew themselves up in Al-Baghaliyeh, paving the way for other terrorists to get into the village and kill at least 280 civilians,” the sources said.

“Among the killed were 20 Popular Defense personnel along with their families,” the sources added.

Meanwhile on Sunday, the so-called “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” reported that ISIL militants abducted 400 civilians from Al-Baghaliyeh.

“After their attack on Deir Ezzor (on Saturday), ISIL abducted at least 400 civilians from the residents of the Al-Baghaliyeh suburb it captured and adjacent areas in the northwest of the city,” the Britain-based monitor said.

“Those abducted, all of whom are Sunnis, include women, children and family members” of pro-government fighters,” Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said, referring to the Popular Defense forces.

They were transported to areas under ISIL control in the west of Deir Ezzor province and to the border with the Raqa province to the northwest, Abdel Rahman added.
